This week on A Better World we are celebrating Women's History Month. March is an annually declared month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and society. It began in 1978 as Women's History Day in Sonoma County, California, and was championed by Gerda Lerner and the National Women's History Alliance to be recognized as a national week in 1980, and then as a national month in 1987 in the US, and spread internationally after that.
And today we are celebrating Women's History Month through song and word.
