National Alliance on Mental Illness

Updated: Aug 5

"Mental illnesses should not be an obstacle to a full, meaningful life."

Mental illness is a serious issue. Twenty-one percent of adults in the U.S. are experiencing a mental illness, equivalent to over 50 million people. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization. Their affiliate, NAMI Western Carolina, since 1985 has been providing support, education and advocacy in a effort to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness.

Join us as we talk to our guest, Robin Payne, Executive Director of NAMI Western Carolina, as she shares about their efforts to improve the wellness and quality of life of people living with mental illness.
