Homeward Bound and Homelessness - 2025

A Better World community

“The biggest struggle of being homeless is that most people experiencing homelessness don’t believe they’re worth having a home." - Chayse Sosa

At one point in 2024, more than 771,800 people lived without housing in the United States. In North Carolina there was an increase of 19% over 2023. What does 2025 hold? The numbers have not been going in the right direction. But like many important organizations around the country, Homeward Bound of WNC, is working to help those who are homeless find a place to call home. They work from the belief that homelessness is a solvable problem and that housing is a human right. Through their Housing First approach they continue to prevent homelessness and over the years have moved 2,600 individuals into housing.

Join us as we talk to Jessie Figueroa and Luc Gray and find out about the important work Homeward Bound in doing in the community.
