Forward Justice is a nonpartisan law, policy, and strategy center dedicated to racial, social and economic justice movement-building and social change in the U.S. South. Through efforts such as the Clean Slate Campaign, and working to ensure equal access to the ballot, and working to exonerate people imprisoned incorrectly, Forward Justice works to change laws, policies, systems, and practices that harm the most vulnerable in our society.
Our guest is Daryl V. Atkinson. Co-Director and Co-Founder of Forward Justice. He is a founding member of the North Carolina Second Chance Alliance and serves on the Board of Directors for the Clean Slate Initiative. He is also co-editor of the book, What We Know -Solutions from Our Experiences in the Justice System.
