This week on A Better World we are recognizing Black History Month. Black History Month was founded by historian, Carter G. Woodson, and the prominent minister, Jesse Moorland, out of a desire to promote achievements by Black Americans and to encourage the teaching of Black History in American schools. It was in 1976, that president Gerald Ford became the first leader to officially recognize Black History Month.
And today we are celebrating Black History Month through song and word.
